You can automatically or manually group tabs in Safari using the Apple Safari Support Guide.
Automatic Tab Grouping (new in macOS 27)
- Open Safari.
- Click Safari in the menu bar, then choose Settings (or press Command + ,).
- Go to the Tabs tab.
- Set Organize Tabs to Automatically Create Topics.
- Safari will use on-device intelligence to group related tabs together automatically. You can also choose Show Related Tabs if you prefer manual suggestions instead. [1, 2]
Manual Tab Groups
- Click the arrow next to the sidebar button in the Safari toolbar.
- Choose New Empty Tab Group or New Tab Group with [X] Tabs.
- Type a name for the group and press Return.
- Drag tabs into the group or Control-click a tab and select Move to Tab Group. [1, 2, 3]
