Apple has released new firmware for the AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Max, AirPods 4, and AirPods 5. The update adds support for the the new features in iOS 27. There’s no word on what’s included in the firmware update because Apple doesn’t offer notes for AirPods beta releases.
Installation is automatic when the AirPods are in their charging case, the case is plugged into a charger, and the linked iPhone is in close proximity and connected to Wi-Fi. You can check the installed firmware revision in the “General” settings menu, by selecting “About,” then “AirPods.”
