How to use the Look Around feature in Maps in iOS 26

Opening Look Around

  • Search a place: Type a city or street address into the search bar.
  • Tap the binoculars: Look for the binoculars icon near the bottom left of the screen or right on the map view.
  • Select a spot: You can also tap and hold on any supported road to drop a pin, then tap the binoculars inside the pin card. 

Navigating and Adjusting the View

  • Pan around: Drag your finger left or right across the image to look in any direction.
  • Move forward: Tap further down the street inside the image window to step forward.
  • Zoom in or out: Pinch open or closed on the screen.
  • Full-screen mode: Tap the expand arrows icon to make the view take up the whole screen.
  • Hide labels: Swipe up on the place name card in full-screen mode and choose Hide Labels if you want a clear view.
  • Exit: Tap Done or minimize the window to return to the standard map
