The build-to-order coast of an iPhone 18 Pro Max (12GB + 1TB) cost is expected to rise by nearly $300 compared to its predecessor, according to new data from Counterpoint Research.
Memory accounts for the biggest driver of the rise, followed by the latest 2nm SoC with its latest packaging.
Display and other parts may cost less than its predecessor, while camera cost will slightly increase due to the new technology.
Counterpoint says Apple is expected to apply different retail price increases across different storage variants, to avoid the loss of gross profit on large-capacity models.
Even with an average $200 retail price rise, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is still expected to deliver a slightly lower gross margin than the iPhone 17 Pro Max in 2025, according to Counterpoint.
