Look for Apple to update every Mac it sells over the next two years, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. Here’s what he says is in store:
° A new iMac — the first upgrade in two years — is coming this fall. Apparently, it will keep the 24-inch form factor; no 27-inch all-in-one (an “iMac Pro”) is anticipated. It’s also uncertain whether the new iMac will pack an M5 or M6 chip.
° The long-anticipated “MacBook Ultra” with an OLED touchscreen display is coming this fall with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors and a thinner design. (Let’s hope it also has cellular options.)
° A 14-inch MacBook Pro with the new M6 chip will arrive this fall.
° A new Mac mini with M5 Pro and M6 chips are coming, but a release date depends on how things shape up with the ongoing memory shortage.
° A new Mac Studio is in the works with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. Again, the release date depends on how things shape up with the ongoing memory shortage.
° An updated MacBook Air — 13-inch and 15-inch models — is due in early 2027.
° An entry level, 14-inch MacBook Pro with a M7 processor is also due in early 2027.
° An updated MacBook Neo with an A19 processor, more memory (12GB, up from 8GB), and possibly new colors (Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo) is coming — though it’s unclear when.
° A follow-up to the high-end MacBook is coming in late 2027 or early 2028 with M7 Pro and M7 Max processors.
° An OLED MacBook Air with (maybe) a new design is coming in early 2028.
° An OLED Mac is coming, although it’s unclear when.
