Apple will likely unveil its foldable iPhone at the same time as the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, but not ship it after the non-foldable have arrived in customers hands, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says in an X post.
Kuo says assembly units for the foldable iPhone — expected to be dubbed either the “iPhone Fold” or “iPhone Ultra” — will be 7-8 million units. He adds that third quarter shipments will be 0.5-1 million units —or about half of that total.
Kuo estimated that the foldable iPhone may have a starting price of around US$2,299 to $2,499. He thinks it “could sell out immediately after pre-orders open, with delivery lead times quickly stretching to 4-6 weeks or longer.
Expect to see the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max arrive in the September/October timeframe. The non-Pro iPhone 18, along with an iPhone 18e and an iPhone Air 2, are all expected in the first half of 2027.
