With the Apple Watch Series (GPS + Cellular), you can set up and use cellular. Of course, you’ll need a cellular-capable model and an eligible plan with a supported carrier..Most carriers share your iPhone’s number with the watch.
Setting Up Cellular
You can activate your cellular plan during the initial watch setup, or add it later through the Watch app:
° Make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch are updated to the latest software versions.
° Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
° Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Cellular (or Mobile Service).
° Tap Set Up Cellular.
° Follow the on-screen instructions to log in and link your carrier account.
Note: If you have a Family Setup watch for a child, follow the same steps but choose your family member’s watch from the “All Watches” screen before tapping Cellular.
Using Cellular
Once set up, your Apple Watch automatically switches to the most power-efficient connection available—jumping from your iPhone’s Bluetooth, to Wi-Fi, and finally to a Cellular/LTE/5G connection when you are out of range.
To check your connection or manually manage your data:
° Press the side button to open the Control Center.
° Tap the Cellular button.
° The button will turn green when the watch is actively using a cellular network, and show your signal strength bars.
° The button will turn white when cellular is active, but the watch is currently using your iPhone or a Wi-Fi connection.
° You can toggle the Cellular Data switch on or off from this menu to save battery or force a standalone LTE connection
