Apple purportedly working on the second generation ‘iPhone Fold/Ultra’

iPhone Fold/Ultra concept

The first foldable iPhone isn’t out yet, but Apple is already working on the follow-up, the leaker known as “Digital Chat Station” says in a Weibo post.

He/she says the second generation foldable — expected to be dubbed either the “iPhone Fold” or “iPhone Ultra” — will have the same display as the first gen. Both are expected to use a foldable 7.8-inch OLED panel supplied by Samsung.

The “iPhone Fold/Ultra” is still expected to arrive this September barring any design issues. It should arrive along with, or shortly after, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The “standard” iPhone 18, an iPhone 18e, and the iPhone Air 2 are predicted to arrive in the first half of 2027.

“Digital Chat Station” also claims that Apple hasn’t yet decided if there’ll be a third generation iPhone Air.
