Safari can be configured to sync tabs across all your Apple devices using iCloud Tabs. To do this, ensure all devices are signed into the same Apple Account (Apple ID) with two-factor authentication and do the following
- On iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > See All (or Show All) and toggle on Safari.
- On Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Settings > Click your name > Click iCloud > Click See All and toggle on Safari.
How to View Synced Tabs:
- iPhone/iPad: Open Safari, tap the Tabs button (two squares), then tap the Tabs icon in the bottom center to see the list of open tabs from other devices.
- Mac: Open Safari and choose Show Start Page from Bookmarks in the menu bar, or click the Tabs icon in the toolbar. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Ensure all devices are connected to Wi-Fi. The sync covers open tabs, Tab Groups, bookmarks, and Reading List items
Troubleshooting:
- If you’re not seeing synced tabs, ensure all devices are connected to Wi-Fi and have the latest software updates installed.
- Restart Safari on all devices.
- Check the Start Page in Safari on your Mac (Bookmarks > Show Start Page).
- If you’re still having issues, try deleting the Safari app data on your Mac by quitting Safari, deleting the folder ~/Library/Containers/Safari, and restarting Safari.
