According to sources within the company’s supply chain, production on Apple’s foldable smartphone has been pushed back, though a 2026 launch is still in sight, according to DigiTimes (a subscription is required to read the article).
From the report: Reports surrounding the delay have been inconsistent, with some speculation suggesting a much later launch, possibly in 2027. Supply chain sources confirm that mass production has indeed shifted to August, but emphasize that Apple is still aiming for a 2026 introduction, implying a tighter and more compressed production schedule.
The foldable iPhone — rumored to be dubbed either the “iPhone Fold” or “iPhone Ultra” — is due in the September-October time frame. You can find a round-up of rumors about it here.
