If you were expecting to see the rumored “HomePad” this spring, you may be disappointed. It will arrive this fall, according to Apple EVT/DVT collector Kosutami — as noted by AppleInsider.
The smart home hub — which some pundits say will be called “Command Center” not HomePad (but I’m going with the latter moniker) — will purportedly sport a 7-inch display, have a speaker (of course), and run an operating system with the codexand of “Charismatic.”
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the OS is designed to be used by multiple members of a household. I suspect the final name of the operating system will be “HomeOS.”
Here’s what a September 2024 report from 9to5Mac said about a HomePad:
° The device will be powered by an A18 processor.
° It will have a squarish display rather than an iPad-ish rectangular design.
° It will have a built-in camera that works for FaceTime and other video conferencing apps.
° The device will use the camera to identify hand gestures from a distance.
