In his latest Power On newsletter, , Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman repeated his previous assertion that iOS 27 will be similar to 2009’s Mac OS X Snow Leopard in that it will forego lots of new features to improve on bug fixes, performance tweaks, and stability.
iOS 27 will doubtless be previewed at this summer’s Apple Worldwide Developer Conference. One new performance feature will be a system-wide setting for adjusting the look of the controversial Liquid Glass interface design. iOS 26.1 added the ability to choose between “Clear” and “Tinted” options for Liquid Glass, and iOS 26.2 added a wider for manually adjusting the opacity of Liquid Glass. Gurman says iOS 27 might expand the slider idea even further.
“Apple had been working on a systemwide Liquid Glass slider for iOS 26 to adjust the level of the glass effect,” he adds. “It couldn’t be pulled off for engineering reasons. Apple is trying again now for iOS 27.”
However, there will be at least one new feature, according to Gurman. He says that iOS 27 will include the long-promised, long-overdue personalized version of Siri.
