How to use Voice Control in macOS Tahoe

The Voice Control feature in macOS Tahoe lets you control your Mac entirely with voice.

To use Voice Control in macOS Tahoe, go to System Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control and toggle it on. The system will perform a one-time download, allowing you to use voice commands to open apps, click items, and dictate text without an internet connection.

Key Features and Usage:

° Commands: Speak commands like “Open Mail,” “Scroll down,” or “Click [item name]” to navigate.

° Interaction: Use “Show grid” or “Show window grid” to create a numbered overlay for precise clicking, then say a number followed by a command like “Click”.

° Dictation: Use enhanced dictation to speak text, add punctuation (e.g., “comma,” “period”), or use “new line”.

Customization: Access Commands to view, add, or customize your own voice commands.

° Spelling Mode: Say “spell” followed by letters to dictate difficult words letter-by-letter.

For the best results, Apple says you should use headphones to help the system hear your voice commands clearly.
