Apple plans to add an Extensions system to Siri that would allow the integration of other AI chatbots, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reiterates in his latest “Power On” newsletter.
He had this to say on March 26: Extensions allow agents from installed apps to work with Siri, the Siri app and other features on your devices,” according to a message inside test versions of the upcoming operating systems. Users will be directed to a new App Store section from this menu to add additional AI services.\
On Sunday he added that at the system would be implemented across macOS 27, iOS 27, and iPadOS 27. Gurman said Mac, iPhone, and iPad users will be able to interact with Apple’s assistant in both text and voice modes. The app would also provide users with access to their past conversations with Siri. Overall, the Siri app would function similarly to the ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude apps.
