In tvOS 26.2 and later, you can set up multi-user support by creating both Apple Account-linked profiles and local, account-free profiles for guests or children. Here’s how:

Methods to Set Up Multiple Users (tvOS 26)

° Go to Settings > Profiles and Accounts > Add New Profile. Here, you can select to sign in with an Apple Account or create a local profile without one, ideal for kids or guests.

° Press and hold the TV button on the Siri remote, select the current profile, and choose “Add Profile”.

° Via Home App (iPhone/iPad): Ensure the Apple TV is in a room in the Home app. Open Home, select the Apple TV, and add users to the home to share access.

° Family Sharing: Create a family group (up to 6 people) to share subscriptions, then add them to the TV using the steps above to share content.

Key Features in tvOS 26.2+

Local Profiles: You can create profiles without an Apple Account to manage separate watch history and restrictions, which can be deleted later.

Startup Selection: tvOS 26 introduces a screen at startup asking who is watching.

Default User: You can set a default user in Settings > Profiles and Accounts to determine whose apps and data are prioritized.

Managing Profiles

Switching: Use the Control Center to quickly switch between profiles.

Restrictions: You can set individual restrictions for each profile, particularly useful for child-safe viewing.

Removal: Navigate to Settings > Profiles and Accounts, select the profile, and choose “Remove”.
