How to Take a phone call on your set-top box with tvOS 26

The Control Center in tvOS 26 gives you quick access to settings and controls for switching users, playing music, accessing HomeKit cameras and scenes, putting Apple TV to sleep, and more.

You can take a phone call on your Apple TV set-top box using tvOS 26. Here’s how:

Step 1: Set Up on Your Apple TV

  1. Go to Settings on your Apple TV.
  2. Navigate to Profiles & Accounts and select your user profile.
  3. Turn on the toggle for Show Incoming Calls.

Step 2: Set Up on Your iPhone

  1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Apps > Phone > Calls on Other Devices.
  2. Ensure Allow Calls on Other Devices and Call Notifications are turned on for your Apple TV.

Step 3: Answering the Call

  1. When an iPhone call comes in, a notification will appear on your TV screen.
  2. Press the Menu/Back button (the circular grey one) on your Siri Remote to open the options.
  3. Select Accept to take the call.
  4. Audio: If you have HomePods connected to your Apple TV, the call uses their microphones and speakers; otherwise, it uses your iPhone.

Notes

  • This feature mirrors your regular iPhone calls, not just FaceTime calls.
  • You can also answer FaceTime calls directly on Apple TV by selecting the FaceTime app and connecting your device, but the above steps are for standard phone calls.
