Slow-motion screen savers can turn your MacBook display into a work of art, both when you’re away from your Mac and as your wallpaper.

Slow-motion screen savers can turn your MacBook display into a work of art, both when you’re away from your Mac and as your wallpaper. Here’s how to set ‘em up:

  1. Open System Settings from the Apple menu.
  2. Click on Wallpaper in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down).
  3. Click on Screen Saver.
  4. Select Custom and choose a screen saver from the slow-motion categories:
    • macOS: A collection of slow-motion images.
    • Landscape, Cityscape, Underwater, and Earth aerials: Slow-motion images of dramatic views.
    • Shuffle Aerials: Slow-motion aerials that change at a set interval.
  1. Click the Options button that appears to customize settings like how often the aerials shuffle or other parameters specific to the screen saver you selected.
  2. Adjust the time for the screen saver to start using the slider in the Lock Screen settings (accessible by going to System Settings > Lock Screen).
