macOS Tahoe 26.1 introduced a Liquid Glass setting that gives you the option to choose between the default clear look or a new tinted look which increases opacity of the material in apps and notifications on the Lock Screen. To use it:
- Open System Settings.
- Click Appearance in the sidebar.
- Find and click the new Liquid Glass menu.
- Choose between Clear (default) or Tinted.

You can also reduce the transparency further:
- Open System Settings.
- Click Accessibility in the sidebar.
- Under the Vision section, click Display.
- Toggle the switch for Reduce transparency to On.
