Here’s how to add folders to your iPad Dock in iPadOS 26

You can now add folders to your iPad's Dock in iPadOS 26, which is very convenient.

You can now add folders to your iPad’s Dock in iPadOS 26, which is very convenient. There are two methods to do this. Let’s look at them.

Method 1: Drag and Drop 

  1. Open the Files app to locate the folder you want to add.
  2. Tap and hold the folder, then drag it to the right side of the Dock, just before the App Library icon.
  3. Release your finger to drop the folder into the Dock. 

Method 2: Use the “Add To” Menu 

  1. Open the Files app and navigate to the folder you want to add.
  2. Touch and hold the folder until a context menu appears.
  3. Tap “Add To” and then select “Dock” from the options. 

Customize the folder’s view 

  • Once the folder is in the Dock, you can change how its contents are displayed.
  • Long-press on the folder icon in the Dock and choose between “Fan” view or “Grid” view from the menu.
  • You can also use options like “Sort by” to organize the files within the folder icon.
