In a research note to clients — as noted by MacRumors — Jeff Pu of GF Securities says in the spring Apple will launch the iPhone 17e, a 12th-generation iPad, and a new MacBook featuring an A-series chip originally made for ‌iPhones‌.

The iPhone 17e has been rumored for some time. It could have a Dynamic Island, according to the Weibo account Digital Chat Station. Here are other rumors about the iPhone 17e (which Apple hasn’t officially announced):

° The smartphone will feature a new industrial design and the A19 chip.

° The ‌iPhone‌ 17e will retain a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a front-facing 12-megapixel camera, Face ID, and a rear 48-megapixel camera.

° It will arrive in spring of 2026.

° It will use the 6.1-inch OLED that is currently in the iPhone 16e. The US$599 iPhone 16e was released in late February.

For the 12th-generation iPad, Pu expects no design changes expected, but says Apple will upgrade it with an A18 chip, enabling the low-cost iPad to support Apple Intelligence for the first time.

A low cost MacBook has also been rumored for some time. Some pundits felt it would arrive this year, but Pu disagrees. according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The laptop will cost “well under $1,000” and it will compete with affordable Windows machines and Chromebooks. Gurman says it will be Apple’s first “low cost” laptop. Apple’s lowest priced Mac notebook right now is the MacBook Air, which starts at $999.

A June 30 X post by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple plans to release a MacBook powered by an A18 Pro processor. Kuo claimed such a laptop will enter mass production ini the fourth quarter of 2025 or early 2026. He said the Mac laptop will sport a 13-inch display with potential casing colors include silver, blue, pink, and yellow.

“Apple aims to return total MacBook shipments to the COVID-19 peak of around 25 million units in 2026 (vs. an estimated 20 million units in 2025),” Kuo said. “The more-affordable MacBook is projected to account for 5–7 million units for 2026.”
