Apple may introduce a new Apple TV set-top box and new HomePod mini speakers this month, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says in his latest “Power On” newsletter.
He says the tech giant’s retail stores will have an overnight refresh on November so the new products could be introduce the following day. However, Gurman admits that the refresh could also be for the holiday season.
He thinks the next Apple TV set-top box and HomePod mini will sport an Apple-designed Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip. The chip will support Wi-Fi 6E, though Apple may not be able to match all of Broadcom’s chip capabilities with the first-generation in-house Wi-Fi chip.

Gurman says that adopting a custom-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip will allow Apple’s upcoming smart home devices to work better together and perhaps “synchronize data more quickly.”
He thinks that the Apple TV set-top box high arrive at a lower price: US$99. And Gurman adds that, unsurprisingly, there will likely be new color options for the HomePod mini.
