I’ve done various experiments to see if the iPad could replace my MacBook Pro as my main computer. So far, I haven’t made this happen (more on that in another column), but one thing might make the difference:
I need an iPadOS version of Pixelmator Pro. So far this isn’t likely to happen as the app is designed specifically for macOS. Apple has said that Pixelmator Pro will remain a Mac-only application for now. The question is “why?”
An app called Pixelmator is already available for the iPad, but it does have all the “bells and whistles” of the Mac version. And I need those bells and whistles; they significantly streamline my workflow in dealing with screenshots for Apple World Today articles.
Pixelmator Pro is reportedly built “specifically for the Mac platform.” But then so was Final Cut Pro and Logic, and now they’ve come to the Mac (though with limitations in some cases). It’s time for Apple to free up Pixelmator Pro for use with iPadOS 26.

I consider iPad and iPadOS, Mac and macOS for the ‘Touch’ generation. and I fully believe that Pixelmator Pro should come for iPad. Remember that there are two messages in this comment.
