Apple may use a combination of aluminum and titanium in the  ‘iPhone Fold’

"iPhone Fold" concept

In a note to clients — as noted by 9to5Mac — analyst Jeff Pu says Apple will use a combination of aluminum and titanium for the upcoming foldable iPhone.

Alas, he doesn’t share any other details. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in a September 21 “Power On” newsletter.

aid the “iPhone Fold” will look very similar to two iPhone Airs side by side.

“As for how the foldable iPhone will look, I am increasingly told that users should imagine two titanium iPhone Airs side-by-side,” he said. “In other words, it’s going to be super thin and a design achievement.”

The “iPhone Fold” may arrive alongside the iPhone 18 line-up in late 2026. However, according to ETNews, Apple won’t release the iPhone 18 lineup until 2027, instead concentrating solely on the iPhone Fold in 2026. However, the Sellers Research Group (that’s me) finds this highly unlikely.
