How to ‘Find My Car’ with iOS 16

Do you often forget where you parked your car in the mall parking lot? If you’ve got an iPhone running iOS 11 or later, no problem.

Do you often forget where you parked your car in the mall parking lot? If you’ve got an iPhone running iOS 11 or later, no problem. Here’s how with iOS 16:

How to Set Up the Feature 

  1. Open the Settings app: on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Maps .
  3. Toggle on “Show Parked Location”: under the “Your Car” heading.
  4. Ensure your iPhone is connected: to your car via Bluetooth or CarPlay for automatic marking.

How to Find Your Parked Car

  1. Open the Maps app: on your iPhone. 
  2. Look for the blue “Parked Car” marker: on the map. 
  3. Tap the marker: to see its location, add notes, or view the location on your Home Screen. 
  4. Tap “Directions”: to get step-by-step navigation back to your car. 

If You Don’t Have CarPlay or Bluetooth

  1. Manually save your location: You can ask Siri to remember your parking spot by saying, “Hey Siri, remember where I parked”. 
  2. Open the Maps app: and you will see the saved location. 
  3. Get directions: to the location you marked.
