Apple AI exec who previously oversaw Siri is departing in October

Robby Walker, the senior AI executive who previously oversaw Siri, is leaving Apple next month, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (a subscription is required to read the article).

Currently he serves as senior director of Apple’s Answers, Information, and Knowledge team. Walker previously oversaw Siri development until earlier this year. That responsibility, however, has since been shifted to Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of engineering, Gurman says. No word on where Walker is heading next.

Gurman says that Walker may have been a key reason for the delay of the “more personalized” Siri. However, he adds that the Answers, Information, and Knowledge remains in development.
