Analyst: MacBook powered by an iPhone chip will start mass production this year

In a post on X, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says a more affordable MacBook model powered by an iPhone processor will start mass production in the fourth quarter of the year.

“The more affordable MacBook model powered by an iPhone processor, slated for mass production in 4Q25, will not support a touch panel,” he writes. “Specifications for its second-generation version, anticipated in 2027, remain under discussion and could include touch support.”

If he’s right about the mass production timeline, this likely means the low-end Mac laptop won’t arrive until early 2027. Early predictions had it arrive this year. Kuo thinks Apple will sell between five million and seven million units of the laptop.

Previously, the analyst has said that it would be powered with an A19 processor, have a 13-inc display, and come in silver, blue, pink, and yellow.
