Portrait Lighting on the iPhone allows you to control lighting effects with shadows, spotlights, and more. And you can use your Portrait pics to create 3D photos on FaceBook.

To take 3D photos on your iPhone for Facebook:

  • Open the Camera app on your iPhone.
  • Select “Portrait” mode.
  • Position your subject and take the photo.
  • Ensure the subject is in focus and the background is slightly blurred, which is key for the 3D effect.
  • Consider taking multiple photos with slight variations in framing or lighting for better results.
  1. Open the Facebook app.
  2. Start a new post, like you would for any other photo.
  3. Select the portrait photo you just took.
  4. Facebook will automatically detect the depth information and offer to create a 3D photo.
  5. If the option isn’t immediately available, you might need to like the Facebook 360 page in Facebook and restart the app.
  6. Preview the 3D effect and make any necessary adjustments before posting.
  7. Add a caption and share the post.
