Following the departure of Luca Maestri and the upcoming retirement of Jeff Williams, more Apple execs are likely to depart in the near future.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest “Power On” newsletter, more exits from “the most senior levels of Apple” are set to come. He expects at least one big name from the company to leave later this year or perhaps in 2026. However, he doesn’t tell whom he suspects.
In August 2024, Apple announced that Luca Maestri would be stepping down as chief financial officer of the company. As part of a planned succession, Kevan Parekh, Apple’s Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, became chief financial officer and joined Apple’s executive team.
In July Apple announced that Jeff Williams will transition his role as chief operating officer later this month to Sabih Khan, Apple’s senior vice president of Operations.
The company claims that this is part of a long-planned succession and that Williams will continue reporting to Apple CEO Tim Cook and overseeing Apple’s design team and Apple Watch alongside the company’s Health initiatives. Apple’s design team will then transition to reporting directly to Cook after Williams retires late in the year.
