In addition to the iPhone 17 line-up, Apple will release Apple Watch, Vision Pro, iPad Pro, and AirPods updates this fall, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says in his latest “Power On” newsletter. However, he says most will only be incremental updates.
“There will be Apple Watch updates, faster Vision Pro headsets and iPad Pros with the M5 processor. You should also expect new AirPods Pro earbuds (I reported earlier this year that Apple is working on a pair with heart-rate monitoring), as well as HomePod minis and Apple TV set-top boxes,” he says.
As for the iPhone 17 Gurman predicts that the iPhone 17 Pro models will be available in an orange color.
The Apple Watch Series 1l is expected to sport a faster processor, but no design changes. However, an Apple Watch Ultra 3 from feature satellite connectivity and a new 5G cellular modem from MediaTek.
A tweaked Vision Pro will upgrade from an M2 processor in the current model to an M4 to M5 chip, depending on which rumor you believe. The next iteration of the Apple TV set-top box and HomePod mini speakers are expected to pack an Apple-designed Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip.
Gurman also says that no update to AirPods Pro Max is likely anytime soon. However, he adds that it’s popular enough not to be canceled.
Apple will likely unveil its iPhone 17 line-up at a special event on Tuesday, September 9, according to German mobile phone providers — as noted by iphone-ticker.de.
