A 2026 “high-end” Apple Watch model will feature “exterior design” changes, with “eight sensors arranged in a ring pattern visible through a glass cover on the watch’s underside,” according to DigiTimes (a subscription is required to read the article).
The article doesn’t specify which Apple Watch it will be. However, I’d bet the rumored changes will apply to an Apple Watch Ultra 4.
Apple didn’t release an Ultra version of its smartwatch last year. But an Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected this year, along with the Apple Watch Series 10. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 will feature satellite connectivity and a new 5G cellular modem from MediaTek, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in a March “Power On” newsletter.
But back to the DigiTimes article. It says that despite challenges from tariffs and macroeconomic factors dampening consumer electronics demand, the supply chain confirms that Apple Watch shipments in 2025 are exceeding expectations.
