How to use an animated Memoji in FaceTime in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17

Memojis allows you to make an animated Memoji of yourself and use it in FaceTime. Let’s look at how to do this in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17.

Memojis allows you to make an animated Memoji of yourself and use it in FaceTime. Let’s look at how to do this in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17.

° Open the FaceTime app and initiate a video call with someone. 

° During the call, tap your video tile. This will reveal the effects button (usually a star or sparkle icon). Tap this button.

° You’ll see a selection of Memoji options. Tap on the one you want to use. Apple’s documentation says you can also swipe through to find the perfect one. 

° Your chosen Memoji will now be visible on the call, mirroring your facial expressions and 

° To switch back to your regular camera view, tap the Effects button again and select the “X” button (or the “None” or “Off” option) within the Memoji section.
