How to find attachments from a Messages conversation in iOS 16, iPadOS 16

Messages offers a convenient way to share attachments if you lose track of one and want to locate it again.

Messages offers a convenient way to share attachments if you lose track of one and want to locate it again. 

To find attachments within a specific Messages conversation on iOS 16 or iPadOS 16: 

  1. Open the Messages app: Launch the Messages app on your iPhone.
  2. Select the conversation: Choose the specific conversation you want to find attachments in. 
  3. Access the contact details: Tap the name or group name at the top of the conversation screen. For iOS 14 and earlier, tap the “Info” button. 
  4. View attachments: Scroll down to find the “Photos,” “Links,” “Locations,” “Documents,” and other attachment sections. 
  5. View all attachments: If you want to see all attachments of a specific type, tap “See All” below that category. 
  6. Access individual attachments: Tap on any attachment to view it in full screen or open it in the corresponding app.
