Apple plans to launch an “entry-level organic light-emitting diode (OLED) iPhone 17e” next spring, according to the Korean site, The Elec.
It will use the 6.1-inch OLED that is currently in the iPhone 16e. The US$599 iPhone 16e was released in late February.
The Elec report lines up with a prediction from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that said we’d see an iPhone 17e in the first half of 2026.
The WeChat-based leaker Fixed Focus Digital has previously claimed that an iPhone 17e is nearing the trial product stage and could arrive before fall.
However, I find that impossible to believe as the iPhone 17 line-up will almost certainly not arrive until September or October. Apple may be planning an iPhone 17e as a follow-up to the iPhone 16e, but the the company isn’t going to release it before the rest of the iPhone 17 line-up.
