Apple’s foldable iPhone will enter production in the second half of 2026, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says in an X post.

“ This indicates that Apple’s foldable iPhone, expected to enter mass production in the second half of 2026, may ship several million units annually in both 2027 and 2028, possibly due to its premium pricing.”

Kuo adds that apparently Apple has placed an order for 15-20 million “iPhone Folds.” In previous rumors, the Weibo-based leaker Digital Chat Station has said the “iPhone Fold” will have a hole-punch camera on the outer display.

He says the the inner display on the foldable smartphone will be a 14.1:1 panel featuring an under-screen camera, while the outer screen is a 14.6:1 panel with a hole-punch camera. The iPhone Fold is predicted to launch next year at a price tag of US$2,000 to $3,000.

As for the foldable iPhone, it will offer two key advantages over other foldable smartphones, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in a recent Power On newsletter.

One: the “iPhone Fold” will have a “nearly invisible” crease when unfolded for an uninterrupted viewing experience. Two: much higher-quality hinge” compared to some other foldable smartphones.

As for other rumors about the iPhone Fold, it will feature two screens with different resolutions. Purportedly, the inner display will be approximately 7.76 inches with a resolution of 2,713 x 1,920 resolution and feature “under-screen camera technology.” The outer display will purportedly be 5.49 inches with 2,088 x 1,422 resolution and will have a punch-hole camera.

On a final note, there are conflicting rumors about whether or not the iPhone Fold will have Face ID.
