Apple’s A19 chip could be as fast as the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, according to “Fixed Focus Digital” (as noted by AppleInsider) in a June 21 Weibo post.
The leaker says that A19 should be able to “catch up” with the Elite 2, due to having a higher level of Instructions Per Cycle (IPC) and better efficiency. However, “Fixed Focus Digital” says that Apple focuses on PPA (Power, Performance, Area) in its chip designs, and prefers to work with energy efficiency over sheer performance.
The Apple A19 and A19 Pro processors are the next generation of Apple’s mobile processors, expected to power the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models, respectively. These chips are rumored to be built on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process (N3P)
