Work-provided AirPods could let your boss spy on you

Marc Porcar, a tech expert at QR Code Generator, says work-provided AirPods may pose a privacy risk.

Marc Porcar, a tech expert at QR Code Generator, says work-provided AirPods may pose a privacy risk, notes the Daily Mail.

How? They could be a tool for snooping on your whereabouts. For example, if you work from home, your boss you potentially see you go to the pub at lunchtime or take a walk before finish time – if you’ve got your AirPods with you, according to the Daily Mail

According to Porcar, location tracking via AirPods can go unnoticed and requires specific steps to prevent it.

Here’s how to stop it from happening:

° Restore the AirPods’ factory settings manually. Put them in their case, close the lid, wait 30 seconds, then open the lid and press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds until the status light flashes amber, then white.

° Once this is done, link them with another non-work Apple ID using an iPhone, iMac or iPad.
