How to sync Safari tabs across all your Apple gadgets

Safari can be configured to sync tabs across all your Apple devices using iCloud Tabs.

Safari can be configured to sync tabs across all your Apple devices using iCloud Tabs. To do this, you need to enable Safari in iCloud settings on each device. Here’s how to set it up:

Enable Safari in iCloud:

  1. On iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > See All (or Show All) and toggle on Safari.
  2. On Mac: Choose Apple menu  > System Settings > Click your name > Click iCloud > Click See All and toggle on Safari.

Sign in with the same Apple ID:
Ensure all your devices are signed in with the same Apple ID and have two-factor authentication enabled.

Enable Handoff (optional but helpful):
Handoff allows you to easily switch between devices and continue browsing where you left off. Go to Settings > General > Handoff & Continuity on your iPhone/iPad and Mac and make sure it’s toggled on.
View synced tabs:
Open Safari on any of your devices. You should see a list of tabs open on your other devices.

Troubleshooting:

  • If you’re not seeing synced tabs, ensure all devices are connected to Wi-Fi and have the latest software updates installed.
  • Restart Safari on all devices.
  • Check the Start Page in Safari on your Mac (Bookmarks > Show Start Page).
  • If you’re still having issues, try deleting the Safari app data on your Mac by quitting Safari, deleting the folder ~/Library/Containers/Safari, and restarting Safari.
