Apple TV+ has announced a new eight-episode documentary series “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars.”
It has from world-famous chef, restaurateur, author and executive producer Gordon Ramsay’s (“Hell’s Kitchen,” “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares”) production company Studio Ramsay Global, and hosted by food expert Jesse Burgess, the co-founder and presenter of Topjaw.
Here’s how the documentary series is described: Exploring the high-stakes world of international fine dining with exclusive Michelin Guide access over the course of the year-long Michelin Guide season, “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” follows the fates of elite chefs at some of the world’s most unique and celebrated restaurants to determine if they will win, maintain or lose that precious Star. From attempting to gain their first Star, tirelessly working to secure their distinction, or striving to achieve a second or an elusive third Star, each chef faces a deeply personal challenge.
The Michelin Star is the most prestigious and elusive culinary award in the world, recognizing the finest ingredients cooked to the highest possible standards. Filmed in cities from Los Angeles to London, Mexico City to Copenhagen, each chef attempts to win a Star or face the crushing blow of losing one, as the Michelin Guide’s team of inspectors use false identities and phone numbers to dine anonymously. After all, the rewards for culinary perfection are great, and only the very best will secure their spot on the Michelin Guide’s exclusive list.
