Special April Fool’s Day report: Apple Car canned, but Apple Monster Truck coming

Apple may have canceled plans for an Apple Car, but in a special April Fool’s Day exclusive, the Sellers Research Group (that’s me) has discovered evidence that Apple is instead planning its own line of monster trucks.

After running into issue after issue in building an electric self-driving car, the tech giant is going in the opposite direction. The Apple Monster Truck will run on diesel fuel and have too many gears for an autonomous vehicle system to handle.

The vehicle will debut at the 2026 Monster Jam, which features the “most famous trucks in the world,” in April 2025 at the Atlanta (Georgia) motor speedway. Especially exciting is that Apple CEO Tim Cook will be driving the monster truck at the exhibit. A Southern boy (he was born in Mobile, Alabama), Cook is reportedly a monster truck junkie and has 35 different vehicles in his collection.

Happy April Fool’s Day!
