With 29% year-over-year growth in India, Apple recorded its highest-ever first quarter shipments of iPhones in the first quarter of 2025, reports Counterpoint Research. The brand also led the market in terms of value.
However, overall, India’s smartphone shipments in quartering of 2025 declined 7% year-over-year in quarter one of 2025. Counterpoint says the market entered 2025 with high inventory levels, which impacted shipments. Besides, there was a 26% annual drop in the number of new smartphone launches.
“Apple continued its strong upward trajectory, recording 29% year-over-year growth and its highest-ever quarter one volumes in India, further cementing its dominance in the premium segment,” says Senior Research Analyst Prchir Singh. “This performance underscores the growing appeal of high-end devices across the country, with Apple also leading the market in terms of value.”
