Software announcements for the week of March 10-14

Here are some of the latest software announcements of the week:

° CodeWeavers’ CrossOver 25 update for macOS adds support for many more games on Mac, including support for games acquired from GOG Galaxy and the Epic Games Store.

° Intuit Inc., the financial technology platform that makes Intuit TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, has announced the availability of Tap to Pay on iPhone for its QuickBooks Online customers in the U.S., enabling small and mid-market businesses to accept in-person contactless payments using only an iPhone.

° Agora, Inc., which specializes in real-time engagement solutions, is expanding into AI-powered robotics and interactive toys with its new ConvoAI Device Kit. This solution—developed in partnership with chip-maker Beken—delivers an all-in-one toolkit that empowers developers and manufacturers to create intelligent, voice-driven interactions for next-generation conversational AI in smart devices.

° The consumer privacy and security company ExpressVPN has announced new speed enhancements to Lightway and OpenVPN. Lightway Turbo, is a new feature that leverages multiple pathways to increase bandwidth. At the same time, ExpressVPN is also implementing data channel offload (DCO) on OpenVPN, a new modern technique that boosts bandwidth and efficiency. 

° HealthTree Foundation, a global nonprofit organization, has launched a mobile app that enables users to access vital disease education, connect with a supportive community, and contribute to groundbreaking research. The HealthTree app is now available for download on App Store/Google Play.

° Cisdem Video Converter for Mac has been updated to version 8.4.0. The latest version brings multi-language support and improved features like downloading videos with multiple audio tracks, providing better user experience and performance.

° Empirical Health has launched launch of Empirical Health Radar, a doctor-developed health score that distills over 40 biomarkers from Apple Watch, WearOS devices, and clinical records into a single, comprehensive metric. . Users can download the app from Empirical Health or directly on the Apple App Store.

°  Nym has launched NymVPN, a decentralized Virtual Private Network (dVPN) built to protect users from government and corporate surveillance, including AI-driven tracking. available for all major operating systems. Android and iOS apps are available via Google Play and the Apple App Store. The Nym website also offers MacOS, Linux, and Windows desktop versions. U.S. pricing starts as low as $5.49 a month with a 2-year subscription.

° Amtrak has introduced significant updates to its mobile app that the company says makes “making travel easier and more convenient for customers.” Available on iOS and Android, these enhancements offer exciting improvements and deliver even more value for guests as they navigate their journeys.

° Left Brain / Right Brain has released Stylebook 10, an upgrade of the virtual closet app for iOS and iPadOS.
