A new Mac Studio could launch as soon as this week, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
The update could be equipped with the M4 Max chip unveiled with the 2024 MacBook Pro models, but this doesn’t seem likely . And Apple apparently doesn’t have an M4 Ultra chip ready to go.
“With an M3 Ultra going into the Mac Studio, Apple could differentiate from the Mac Pro, which could then get the M4 Ultra. Right now, the Mac Studio and Mac Pro oddly both have the M2 Ultra and same overall performance,” Gurman says.
The current Mac Studio starts at US$1,999 and $1,799 for education. Additional configure-to-order options are available at apple.com/store.
