CIRP: MacBook Pros are Apple’s most popular Mac

CIRP says MacBook Pros are Apple's best-selling Macs.

According to new data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), Mac laptops made up 86% of Apple’s personal computer PC market share in 2024.

The MacBook Pro was the most popular at a rate of 53%, while the MacBook Air had 33%. What’s more, the MacBook Pro has had consistently higher shipments among the M-series. Among desktops, the iMac is the most popular with 14% of all Mac models.

CIRP notes that laptops have accounted for around 80% of total Mac sales for the past several years. They fell to around 70% in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022, when homebound consumers shifted somewhat to desktops, but have since rebounded.. Laptops hit a high of 90% in 2023.
