Apple is now “well into construction” of its new TV/film studio at the intersection of Venice and National Boulevard in Los Angeles, reports Urbanize Los Angeles.
The project will consist of two buildings featuring a combined 536,000 square feet of offices and production space atop underground parking for 1,200 vehicles. The firm of Gensler is designing the campus, which will include four- and five-story buildings with terrace decks lining the upper floors. Street-facing entrances and shuttle drop-off points are intended to activate the ground level, in lieu of commercial uses, says Urbanize Los Angeles.
The studio campus will complement Apple’s current LA arrangements, where the company leases sound stages to film in the Los Angeles area and other parts of the world. The goal is to produce more content for the Apple TV+ streaming service.
