How to use Mail Categorization in iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2

Mail Categorization in iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.2 sorts your messages to help you prioritize the most important messages.

The mail app filters your emails into one of four categories: Primary, Transactions, Updates and Promotions. To change an email’s category:

° Launch Mail.

° Tap either Transactions, Updates or Promotions tabs across the top of Mail — but not Primary — and tap a message.

° Tap the three dots (…) in the top right corner.

° Tap Categorization. Now you can manually categorize messages from a specific sender to another category. However, you should note that all messages from a sender will go to the new category,

If you don’t like Mail Categories, you can remove ‘em so Mail looks like it did before the update. Here’s how:

° Launch Mail.

° Tap the three dots (…) in the top right corner of the app.

° Tap List View.

Now your emails will show up in Mail from top to bottom as they arrive in your inbox.
