Executives at Apple, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and Marvell Technology Group are among the names that have surfaced as potential candidates for the job, according to Barron’s.
One is rumored to be Johny Srouji, senior vice president of Hardware Technologies at Apple. He joined Apple in 2008 to lead development of A4, the first Apple-designed system on a chip.
Prior to Apple, Srouji held senior positions at Intel and IBM in the area of processor development and design. He earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Computer Science from Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology.
The Sellers Research Group predicts that Srouji will stay at Apple. Rumors about him heading to Intel to serve as CEO have popped up sporadically since 2019.
Other rumored candidates to lead Intel are: Lip-Bu Tan, the current executive chairman of Cadence Design System and Charlie Kawwas, president of semiconductor solutions at Broadcom.
