I want the ability to use the Vision Pro as an external display with my iPad Pro.

Apple’s iPad Pros are nice devices, though I still don’t find them ready to serve as a Mac laptop replacement. But I’m wondering why Apple doesn’t offer the ability to use them with the Vision Pro.

You can with the Mac. Mac Virtual Display lets you view your Mac screen on Apple Vision Pro, and use your Mac trackpad to share the pointer between your Mac and Apple Vision Pro. Both devices must be signed in with the same Apple ID, and your Mac must have macOS Sonoma or later installed.

If you’re using an iPad Pro as your main computer, it’d be cool to use the spatial computer as an external monitor with an iPad Visual Display feature. Perhaps we’ll see it as a feature in the next rev of iPadOS that will be previewed at the 2025 Worldwide Developer Conference.
