We may soon get a Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, Magic Keyboard with USB-C ports replacing Lightning ports

I want Apple to release a standalone Magic Keyboard in black.

Apple may soon release new versions of the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad, according to code found in the iOS 18.1 release candidate by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris.

There are references to a new Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad 2, and several Magic Keyboards, which would include versions with Touch ID and number pads, as well as models without, the article adds.

I’d bet that the accessories will FINALLY replace their Lighting ports with USB-C ports for recharging. It’s a change that’s long overdue. I’d also love to see Apple release a space grey or black version of the Magic Keyboard.

My 16-inch MacBook comes in space black, and I want a standalone Magic Keyboard to match — or at least available in some hue of black. Currently, the only “flavor” is white.

Apple makes the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Number Keypad. But it’s US$199 and takes up too much desktop real estate for those of us who don’t need the numeric keypad.

So I use a Magic Keyboard when using my laptop with an external display and mouse. My Magic Mouse is black, but the smaller Magic Keyboard is only available in white. I want one in black to match the mouse and laptop’s hues.

A trivial thing? I guess. But we Apple fans like our aesthetics, don’t we?
