Monoprice Dual Driver Bluetooth Headphones have great battery life, so-so active noise cancellation

Monoprice Dual Driver Bluetooth Headphones

By Dustin Darnell

The Monoprice Dual Driver Headphones with ANC allow you to enjoy 50 hours per charge of clear highs and powerful bass coming out of cushioned earcups.

These US$69.99 headphones have three audio modes: Normal, Transparency, and Noise Cancelling. The Normal mode operates just as any other over the ear headphone operates. The headphones have a very tight seal around the ear and are very effective in blocking external noise. In Transparency mode, an external microphone is activated and helps you hear the outside world better.

There is a faint static hiss from the microphone in Transparency mode. Noise Cancelling is intended to be active noise cancellation; however, it is not very effective when compared to Normal mode. This is partly due to the great noise blocking you get by default due to the great over the ear seal, but to a greater extent the active noise cancellation is not great. If you are interested in ANC, this might not be the best option for you.

The battery life is great. The ear cups each pivot a little over 90 degrees which allows them to fold and fit into an included case. They have great audio with a little higher bass tuning than some other options. On the right ear cup there are three buttons. One to power on/off, one to change the audio mode, and a rocker to control the volume. The ear cups are very soft and comfortable.
