M4-equipped MacBook Pros, iMacs, and Mac minis rumored to be coming this year as expected

As expected, Apple plans to release new MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini models with the M4 series of chips "this year," according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

As expected, Apple plans to release new MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini models with the M4 series of chips “this year,” according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

“They’ll sport the M4 processor and highlight Apple Intelligence features,” he says. “The M4 chip will come to the MacBook Air, Mac Studio and Mac Pro during 2025.”

Apple could hold a special event in October promoting the updated products. Or, since no major design changes are expected for the MacBook Pro and iMac, the company could just announce the Mac upgrade via press releases. (They’re expected to go on sale in November).

However, Gurman says the Mac mini will get a “major redesign” — getting even smaller. The device will be far smaller than its predecessor, approaching the size of an Apple TV set-top box, he predicts

Gurman adds that  the revamped Mac mini will sport at least three USB-C ports on the back, as well as an HDMI port. He thinks Apple plans two versions of the ‌2024 Mac mini‌: one with the standard M4 chip (a la the ‌iPad Pro)‌, and one with an M4 Pro chip.
